March in Appalachia for the Preservation of Ison Rock Ridge!

Join us on May 27th for a march through Appalachia to protest the pending Ison Rock Ridge permit,  a surface mine that, in addition to exacerbating health effects associated with current surface mining practices, would destroy three miles of streams and fill nine valleys with more than 11 million cubic yards of rock and dirt.

We will meet at the SAMS office on Main st at 10 am on Friday, May 27th for the march that will conclude in Andover with a celebration in honor of Ison Rock Ridge and the hard work community members have done over the years to protect it from being destroyed.  We will celebrate with hamburgers and hotdogs and live music!

Details pending, contact the SAMS office (276-565-6167) for more information
