The Southern Appalachian Mountain Stewards is a non-profit community organization that depends on membership dues and donations to continue our work. Your donations are greatly appreciated and go to fund things such running our office, getting the word out on whats happening in southwest Virginia, and sending our members abroad to share their stories.

1. The easiest way may be to visit us at our office with cash or your checkbook.  Our office is located at 301 Wood Avenue(the old Westmoreland building), and we’re in the back in suite 106.

2. You can mail us a check, made out to “VOP” with “SAMS donation” in the memo line.  VOP, or the Virginia Organizing Project is our fiscal sponsor, but its very important that you put “SAMS Donaiton” in the memo line, otherwise the money won’t go to us. When you mail in your contribution, please also attach a letter including your name, address, phone number, and e-mail address(if you have one) so that we can be in touch with you in the future.

3. Donations can be paid online through our fiscal sponsor, the Virginia Organizing Project.  If you make an online contribution, please be sure that you fill out the online form properly, noting that this is a donation to SAMS in the section marked “Designation”. Click this link to send us your donation through VOP.  Also, please be sure to send us a copy of the confirmation e-mail you receive so that we will know, in a timely manner, of your donation.

Southern Appalachian Mountain Stewards is fiscally sponsored by the Virginia Organizing Project (VOP). VOP is officially registered with the Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, P. O. Box 1163, Richmond, VA 23209. You can write to this Department for all relevant financial statements and procedures regarding the solicitation of contributions. Your donation is tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law. Unfortunately, online donations are not tax deductible. If you would like for your contribution to be tax deductible it must be by check made out to VOP with a memo “SAMS donation”. Thank you!
